Javier/Brown + other stuff?
In case anyone’s wondering about his defense, I thought this was a good article, though a year old:

Javier is untouchable IMHO
Agreed. I’d think Urquidy and someone like Leon would be enough to get a deal done?
Amen.
Get your own reptil.
If the Astros trade Javier, I may be done.
Abreu, Brown or Garcia + other stuff? Hell if I know.
I love Javier, and I agree with you.
Pass. Not sure he has the type of defense and the arm to play in the MMPUS expansive CF. And, league pitchers appear to have caught up to him last year.
Why? Pitching is a team strength and the reason we won last season IMO. The team we have now can repeat as is.
If you put any stock in the trade simulator, that isn’t anywhere close to value for Reynolds.
It would take something like Hunter Brown and Y. Diaz or McCormick. That would get you close.
Why? Because MM asked if the Stros had what it might take to acquire Reynolds, and I was spitballing an answer.
Javier is far too steep a price. I wouldn’t want to offer Brown unless Verlander has agreed to return beforehand. You can never have enough quality starting pitching, and McCullers is a big injury risk.
Fair enough.
I’m all for improving but wouldn’t part with a SP on the current roster unless we are able to bring back JV.
I really think the team could repeat with what it has. If we can add Benintendi or Brantley Or Contreras even better of course.
I do think a guy like Maton might be expendable. Not sure what we can get for him (or him with a prospect).
Apparently the Pirates have offered Reynolds the biggest player cash package in history, two hours after the trade request was issued
I think the offer was actually made before he requested the trade.
Personally, I really don’t much stock in the simulator. I don’t know how they come up with player values, but they strike as totally skewed and out of whack.
“I want the Bonilla contract, adjusted for inflation.”
Yeah, I understand that. I’ve often wondered how they do their calculations of player values and if they are accurate. Having said that, the most recent trade between the Brewers and Mariners was accurate, but that’s just one, and the only one I checked.
I hope and pray the ‘professional’ baseball squad that plays in North Texas and should still be the Washington Senators, flails, fails and sputters along with their fair-weather, front-runner t-shirt fan base.
ETA- I’m looking at all my arlington stRanger backing friends who vociferously told me the arlington mouth-breathers were the best ever in Texas during their 2 WS run and have been mighty quiet the past several years, bless their hearts.
I’m blessed, I feel, to not know a single, genuine Rainjizz fan.
