Brown?

I had flashbacks of our former broadcaster. It’s ST for me as well
There are going to be hiccups for about the first month, but I’m all in on the pitch clock. That was wonderful not having to watch a batter step out of the box and do one of a thousand routines. Game was 2.5 hours. Twins and Rays played 2.5 hours in a game where they scored 12 runs. While I didn’t have a problem with what he had, I’m going to love this. Will actually be able to watch the west coast games to the end without feeling like a zombie at work the next day.
Dirden and Wagner had quite the day.
Like Dirden’s swing. Wagner looked like Breggy for a sec on the play coming in hard at 3B!
I’m seeing lots of oohing and aahing about two and a half hour games, but aren’t most ST games (and especially the early ones) usually fairly quick? Everyone is just trying to get their reps in; there’s usually no pitching changes during an inning, the commercial breaks are shorter than the during the regular season. Maybe I’m inventing memories, but two and half hour games in late February doesn’t seem unusual to me.
I’m fairly confident the pitch clock will increase the pace of play and that will likely lead to shorter games, but I think the reaction to these early games is a bit overstated.
No, not really. At least not according to the article I read yesterday which I can’t put my hands on to link now. Read so much yesterday I can’t remember which it was but I’ll keep looking in an effort to link. It said the average time of the first spring training game last season was slightly over 3 hours. Yesterday was for all intents and purposes a full 30 minutes quicker.
EDIT: Duman has something posted in another thread about this.
Fairly quick? In my experience attending ST games, they were not quick at all.
Tucker still grabbing dirt each time but he’s doing it faster! LOL
I noticed that. It’s guys like Tucker that have brought us the pitch clock.
Yeah, I’m going to have to say that it’s people that were bothered by it for whatever reason that brought us the pitch clock.
For whatever reason, we go to the 9th at the 1:48 minute mark.
2:06. On a botched double play walkoff.
Even though I can spell worth anything, I love word games. One of the games I play everyday is xordle.org
Like wordle but two words to solve for based on the clue given. Today’s is Astros related
I got it, but it sure took me til the very last guess (and the bonus freebie) to understand how it worked. Neat game to add to the morning routine.
I enjoyed laying on my couch after a grueling 5 day stretch of flying for The Man/battling Mother Nature/ hearing my copilot reference the Astros’ “tarnished” Championship in ‘17 (he’s a big Masshole/sawx fan with as much self awareness as a dog licking its own asshole in public), watching the World Series Champion Houston Astros beisbol team this afternoon, all the while relishing that MLB, that fuckwit rob manfred, all the haters, et al, have to kiss the Astros’ Orange 2-time Championship grundle.
In no particular order.
And it’s only Game 3 of Spring Training.
Let’s go Astros.
Give him a copy of Solomon’s article, and refer him to Betts’ comments about Boston’s 2018 championship. Glass house and stones, ya know? If ours is “tainted,” so is theirs.
We’re living in the best timeframe. USA Today is my go-to pick me up piece when I seek anguished references to 2017, and the 2022 shive
Dirden goes yard again yesterday. Dirden is brining back memories of a young Luke Scott back in what…2005, maybe 2006? Remember when he had that ridiculous ST?
You rang?
