The sci-fi TV thread

Brosnan had suave coming out of his earholes, but didn’t have the edginess that Dalton (and Connery and Craig) had.

I always found Moore’s bond creepy, as in a bedroom full of scented oils and a bulk discount at the MI6 STD clinic.

Probably the most date-rapey of the Bonds.

Goldeneye is simply miles ahead of the other Dalton movies.

The real Bond didn’t drug his women, he just hit them over the head with a club. He was a caveman, not a seducer.

I liked Hiddleston in the adaptation of le Carre’s The Night Manager. I can see him as Bond.

FTR, Craig was 38 for Casino, Dalton 41 for Living Daylights, Hiddleston is currently 42.

Coming back around to Loki, every single episode I am just blown away by the chemistry between Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. The storyline is awesome on it’s own, but fucking hell those guys both just absolutely bring it as well.

The show would not work without them. Casting Owen Wilson was inspired.

Loki S2E2:

Very happy to see them lean back into a little bit of Loki’s villain nature. They had oversteered into him being totally redeemed.

I’m fully expecting this season to be a wild ass ride between good and bad Loki.

Brief diversion from Loki (I’m going to get caught up shortly).

Ahsoka motivated me to finish Rebels.

Went back to the start (I had only seen chunks of seasons).

They really did a nice job telling a non-Skywalker-centric story and the final season was very well done.

Now, I hope we see alligator Loki again…

Twilight of the Apprentice was fucking awesome.

That’s the animated show?

I enjoyed this convo re: next Bond, and loved The Night Manager, but is it not a done deal that they are making the next Bond a black woman?

One of them. The Clone wars is the primary other one.

Lots of comments from Barbara Broccoli in this article about the search. Basically, the criteria are: male, British, not too young, not too old. Then there’s a long list of names, most of whom are probably too famous.

If I had to guess one actor in particular, I’d put my money on Callum Turner. He’s the right age, he’s British, and he looks the part. Been in a few things including the wonderful 2020 adaptation of Emma and the upcoming Band of Brothers/Pacific follow-up “Masters of the Air”.

Now you have my attention.

No kidding.

I re-ripped my BSG box set for Plex, and I checked on an episode or two to see the quality. So now I’m rewatching the whole thing.

Frack my life.
