MARVEL, STAHP!
It’s Bruce. He could very well be pulling everyone’s leg.
When you find yourself rooting against the cute 8 year old who is Kong’s buddy, that’s probably a sign the movie went wrong somewhere.
Recommended only for kaiju movie completists.
He also played a small role in all of the Tobey Spidermans, as I recall.
Regardless, I’m all for anything Bruce Campbell.
His cameo in 3 is especially good.
Did you see Bubba Ho-tep? I saw it way back when it first came out (19 years ago… jeez). I don’t remember much about it, other than the crazy premise of it. I should check it out again.
It’s been quite a while, but I did see it. I just remember being in awe of how weird it was the whole way through.
Ha. It’s on sale on iTunes right now for 4.99. I was eyeballing it.
I’m a big John Lansdale fan. His Hap and Leonard books are highly entertaining.
Paramount used First Contact Day as an opportunity to drop a bunch of Star Trek news today.
Lower Decks S2 coming August 17 (and renewed for S3):
Discovery S4 coming sometime in 2021:
Picard S2 coming sometime in 2022:
No dates yet for Strange New Worlds, but we know that they started production a couple of weeks ago.
My guess is that Lower Decks, Disco, and Picard will air in succession, with Strange New Worlds slotting in behind Picard mid/late next spring. Alex Kurtzman said a while back that he wanted the franchise to get to the point that one series is always on the air. They should be able to support that now that they have four shows in active production.
As for the teasers, there’s some good stuff socked away. Lower Decks shows a Wrath-of-Khan-era Miranda class ship, a Gul-Madred-esque interrogation office, and more rockin’ Riker. Picard’s teaser doesn’t show much other than the return of Q, and we also know that Guinan is coming back, but it does show a piece of the Reckoning Tablet from DS9. Makes you wonder if we’ll see some Bajoran action this time around. Disco’s teaser is… well, Disco.
Did you watch the Sundance TV adaptation that came out a few years ago? I was mostly drawn to it because of Christina Hendricks at first, but I ended up liking the show anyway and kept watching after her character was killed off.
Yes. I thought it was a pretty good adaptation. They did it similar to the Bosch TV series, in the way they combined story elements from different books to make new stories rather than just follow the books at they were written. The book series is a hoot.
The shot dwells on a quad-nacelle ship as Picard discusses the actions we wish we had taken. Isn’t that one of his pre-command ships?
Yes, the Stargazer. But Picard always had a model of it in his ready room on the Enterprise-D so its presence in the teaser isn’t unusual. Picard never had a lot of dealings with the Bajorans except at the very end of TNG, and the Reckoning Tablet was a late DS9-era Bajoran artifact. That’s what makes it unusual.
Then again, they’re hinting at more time travel (groan), so maybe with Q’s help Picard is going to relive something that happened on the Stargazer (like Jack Crusher’s death).
Uniforms with actual color in Disco! Hated the gray uniforms from the third season.
Agreed. They’re also a little reminiscent of the TOS movie uniforms which I’ve always liked.
FAM S2E8:
Spoiler
Shit is getting REAL on the moon.
Saw the Danny/Karen stuff coming a few episodes ago, but I have a bad feeling that this isn’t going to end well at all.
Agreed.
Spoiler
The Russian burning up in his spacesuit was brutal.
The Danny/Karen stuff just makes no sense to me. It’s just something shoehorned into the script to give her character something to do this season.
Meanwhile, in the MCU
