If it’s five times per year, that doesn’t sound particularly significant. But I don’t know how often it actually happens that a player is sent down six times in a season.
Last year LAD sent one guy down 7 times, another 8, and another 11. It’s not a huge change from the status quo (I doubt most teams had anyone who went back and forth 5 times) but you can bet LAD’s strategy would’ve become more common. Good to nip it in the bud.
What does “6-pick draft lottery” mean? Does that mean the worst six teams by record go NBA style in the draft?
Whether it had an influence or not I would note that with the Astros voting no that LMJ is the player rep and he too is a Boras client.
Haven’t read details on that yet
This year’s Rule 5 draft has been canceled.
Transactions unfreeze at 5:30 CT once the owners ratify the deal. This is gonna be fun.
Like the Oklahoma land rush
Boooooooo. Tiebreaker games are great.
Except with more teeth.
Can I get “The Land Race” from “Far and Away” playing during all these transactions?
I am surprised at how much the players got.
I would have bet money that the owners were TRYING to find a way to cancel games till Memorial day.
The new money coming in with the competing streaming platforms and gambling revenue must be immense.
That’s as deep a Williams cut as I’ve seen here. What’s next, someone referencing “Heartbeeps”?
Not surprising but now official
All 18 teams who don’t make the postseason will be eligible for the 6 picks awarded in the lottery. The 3 teams with the worst records will each be awarded a 16.5% chance. The remaining 50.5% will be split among the other 15 teams in reverse order of winning percentage.
Also read that “small market” teams cannot be top 6 more than 2 years in a row and “large market” teams cannot be top 6 back to back years
What’s the difference between “2 years in a row” and “back-to-back years”? Seems like the same thing at first glance.
Me likey…
