This is what is keeping me pretty relaxed about the prospect of Judge Cannon stomping on the scales again this afternoon. He’s going to be indicted in DC and Fulton Co., GA, potentially also in New Jersey.
He can try to run, but the glacier of justice has finally caught up with him.
Jack Smith has taken possession of the phones of a number of Trump advisors, including Boris Epshteyn and Mike Roman (director of Election Day operations for the Trump campaign in 2020).
How much evidence could remain after 2 1/2 years? I assume any half-way competent criminal would scrub the phone itself completely immediately afterward. How long does the phone company keep data? And couldn’t the prosecutor just get search warrants for the phone company in the first place?
If they’re looking for evidence of obstruction, then what is on - and what is not on - those phones could be relevant. For example, if there are regularly dozens of messages per day between protagonists, then almost nothing around Jan 6, and then back to normal thereafter, that could bolster an obstruction charge. Similarly, if they have deleted messages between themselves but no one else, that points to obstruction too.
Also, let’s not assume that these chucklekfucks have the competency to delete all incriminating messages and all of the same incriminating messages. Mismatches point to selective deletion and, again, obstruction.
It’s not mouthbreathers like D Ward and that other incoherent fuckwit that posts here that got us four years of Trump and the continuing circus, a spectacle, demented and pathetic as it may be, that poses an actual existential threat to the democracy. No, although they’re capable of making a hell of a racket, there aren’t quite enough of those ignorant freaks to steer the ship. It’s misogynist weirdos who contort objective reality in ways remarkably similar to the Trump cult and who six years ago thought it’d be funny to vote for the Libertarian guy or the Neo Whig or whoever the hell else was on the ballot, or not vote at all.
In the moment ‘I’ll make everyone else miserable, too,’ seemed like a poor rationale for electoral decision making, and the passage of time has done little to change that view.
Mouth breather? You are the one who has to have someone remind you to close your mouth so you don’t drown when it rains. Once again, I’m very glad smart people outnumber Democrat dimwits in Texas. You are a low IQ individual who probably didn’t amount to much in life so you have to talk down on others to make yourself feel good. Classic Democrat.
The thing is, if a fairly strong independent gets in the picture, it will take away from Biden’s votes. There are plenty of democrats who aren’t completely eat up with stupid that would vote for a Biden alternative. That would seal a victory for Trump as long as there is no cheating.
Officers working for Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security initiative have been ordered to push small children and nursing babies back into the Rio Grande, and have been told not to give water to asylum seekers even in extreme heat, according to an email from a Department of Public Safety trooper who described the actions as “inhumane.”
The July 3 account, reviewed by Hearst Newspapers, discloses several previously unreported incidents the trooper witnessed in Eagle Pass, where the state of Texas has strung miles of razor wire and deployed a wall of buoys in the Rio Grande.
According to the email, a pregnant woman having a miscarriage was found late last month caught in the wire, doubled over in pain. A four-year-old girl passed out from heat exhaustion after she tried to go through it and was pushed back by Texas National Guard soldiers.
Give Chuck a break. He doesn’t have the mental capacity to see anything other that what might appear obvious to him. Sometimes he has to have someone tell him it is obvious before he can see it.
The hearing is over but no ruling yet from Judge Cannon. She seemed sympathetic to the defense’s argument that there is a metric shit tonne of discovery materials to go through. Conversely, she seemed to dismiss the argument that she couldn’t seat a fair jury during the campaign.
If she pushes the trial into 2024, Trump has court dates in January and March for the NY charges and the Carroll suit part deux. So we’re looking at, if not December this year, May next year at the earliest.
