Yesterday, SCOTUS ruled affirmative action dead, because you cannot discriminate even if it’s intended to be positive. Today they ruled that it’s a constitutionally protected right to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people.

Look it up- essentially a huge group of Democrats switched to Republicans specifically because of racism and they didn’t like the blue party giving rights to non-whites and women, treating them equally.
This was actually started when Harry Truman adopted a very pro civil rights platform distancing many southern democrats from the rest of the democratic party.
Essentially the Republicans accepted them and accepted becoming the party of racism and hate.
Today’s Republican party has no characteristics of Lincoln’s republican party from the Civil War era.

Everyone’s point is that comparing today’s Republican and Democratic Parties, without serious caveats and qualifications, to those of ~60-160 years ago is either disingenuous or uneducated.
