Yeah, it shows they’re concerned, but it’s hard to believe a Democrat can win statewide.
I think it will depend on the turnout from Gen Z. If they show up, I can see both Trump and Cruz losing
The other big variable will be moderate republicans switching from Trump (or no-voting that race) but still voting republican down the ticket. We are starting to see a parade of notable republican figures coming out against Trump that is providing the necessary permission.
Of course, if Trump and/or Cruz loses, Abbott will throw out the Harris Co. votes so it’s moot.
He won’t do it. He’ll make Paxton do it, so that he’s at the necessary remove.

Here’s a Trump rally in Philly.
Regardless of what happens in Texas, the rest of the country seems mostly done with him. He cannot fill venues, there is no energy and people walk out early.
This is not how it’s supposed to look for the challenger.
Doesn’t mean they won’t still vote for him, unfortunately.

No, but he lost in 2020 and he dragged down the 2018 and 2022 midterms, and this is not the look of a campaign that’s adding voters. And, light Cruz, since last time he ran he’s been adjudicated a rapist, convicted of 34 felonies and there’s the whole Jan 6 thing.
He is going to struggle to hit his ceiling and his ceiling is the same as it ever was at around 48% of typical voters. Harris’ ceiling is way higher because she has the other 52% of typical voters to work with, plus she may well be turning out new voters who aren’t in Team Trump’s calculations.
This sounds like someone who knows he’s not going to win.
I can guarantee you that he doesn’t give a fuck about who wins. He’ll declare victory on election night (sound familiar?) and let the resulting chaos ensue. I just hope it’s not too bad, but I’m not optimistic.
This will likely be very messy and not resolved in a timely manor. I hope we’re all prepared for that.
ETA. I can’t wait until this man is out of our lives. I know that this won’t end with him, but I’m so fucking sick of this man. 9 fucking years of hate, intolerance, complaining, entitlement, and most importantly, idiocy.
