Trump spoke to reporters (of course) before entering the courtroom. He promised “interesting things” for today, which sounds like he has told Necheles to go all out on Daniels.
Still a mudslide predicted for Biden’s depends today.
Before the jury was brought in, the prosecution got the judge to save the defense from themselves, by not allowing them to bring up the fact that Stormy Daniels had once been arrested.
If they had this plan, and I was their client, I’d fire them on the spot. Because you know who else has been arrested? Four times arrested?
So far Necheles is trying to paint Daniels as a money-grubbing whore, and Daniels is more than holding her own.
Observers say that Daniels is more poised and considerate in her answers today. Looks like the day off from trial has been well spent on polishing her as a witness.
Earlier Necheles went after Daniels for issuing a statement - in 2018 when she was under an NDA with Trump - that denied the stories about them. Classic Team Trump trying to argue both ways at the same time. I’m sure that will get neatly cleaned up on re-direct.
This isn’t going how they expected, I think.
Necheles is going after Daniels for promoting merchandise she is selling on the internet. Just think about that for a moment…

Team Trump is currently trying to slut shame a porn star for claiming to have had consensual sex with their client. It’s going about as well as you might think.
Not only that, they are making the prosecution’s case for them, that Trump was terrified that this story would get out, which is why he paid the hush money, which he then falsified to hide the payments from FEC oversight, which is exactly what he has been charged with here.
Let’s see here. Trump paid someone to shut up. Not illegal. He classified expenses to pay his lawyer as “legal expenses.” Last time I checked, paying a lawyer legal fees and having your accountant classify them as “legal expenses” is not a crime.

It is completely irrelevant whether Daniels’ story is true or not. Pecker already testified to capturing the doorman’s story about Trump knocking up the cleaning lady, which everyone now accepts is complete bollocks. Yet the doorman was still paid for his silence.
The crime is not and has never been paying the hush money. The crime(s) is (are) falsifying the records around such payments so as to hide them from the FEC. That’s why Trump paid $420,000 to Cohen to facilitate a settlement to Daniels of $130,000.

The entire defense strategy with Daniels was about salving Trump’s butt hurt. All they’ve done is shown how willing they are to bully and punch down on behalf of their client.
…and Team The People sticks the landing.
And yes President Trump is on trial for classifying an expense paid to a lawyer as a “legal fee.” Use what is left of your burned out brain and stop lying.
Oh, and then there’s this:
Trump sued Daniels for breaching the NDA, so he had to admit, in court and under oath, that he reimbursed Cohen for the $130,000 payment, otherwise he had no standing to enforce the NDA.
The defense opened that door on cross-examination, and Team The People was ready to charge through it with the receipts. They cannot now claim that Trump didn’t pay back Cohen without admitting that Trump lies under oath to suit his own needs.
