The differences weren’t so stark when I was young, at least they didn’t seem so. Even during Watergate, there were Republicans like Howard Baker. Now look at the difference, Democrats as a party have very little tolerance for scandal now, compared to then. Franken and Menendez are toast before their term ends and Bill Clinton could not withstand a Democratic primary today. Republicans, on the other hand, have no ethics at all. Their leader has NINETY ONE FELONY COUNTS in four separate jurisdictions and Santos fears no sanction in the House. Neither does Gaetz, Jordan, Boebert or any of the Wachadoodle Caucus.

There’s a big difference.

Trump himself, not anybody else, has said on one hand that MAL is worth $18 million for tax purposes, and on the other hand worth “100 times that amount” for collateral purposes. Now I have no idea which amount is closer to reality, but I think we can probably agree that whatever that number is ought to be used for both of those purposes.
