The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

Like I said earlier to Limey in this thread, who exactly are the snowflakes? I’d argue they are those that can’t handle the truth nor deal with the fact someone may kneel during the National Anthem.

Wasn’t the motive that minority Asian-American students were getting hurt by those admission policies and Affirmative Action was not intended to hurt minorities? But I get your point.

That was the plaintiff’s argument in the case. However, here are some quotes from the justices (courtesy of NPR) following the ruling. Myths about affirmative action being discriminatory against Asian Americans : NPR

Chief Justice Roberts wrote: “Harvard’s admissions process rests on the pernicious stereotype that ‘a black student can usually bring something that a white person cannot offer.’”

Justice Clarence Thomas, the nation’s second black justice and a conservative who has long called for an end to affirmative action, agreed.

He wrote that such programmes were “patently unconstitutional”.

“Universities’ self-proclaimed righteousness does not afford them license to discriminate on the basis of race,” he said.

As long as people are suckered by symbolic gestures, whether it’s in the form of a flag or burning a flag, a cartoon Mohammed or fuck all, some people are going choose, either consciously or unconsciously, to be offended. Often the intent of the display is to offend.

I don’t disagree with any of that. It’s just funny that many conservatives love to use the term “snowflake” when describing their Liberal counterparts.

I don’t know for sure but I tend to think that a white student would be hard pressed to offer the perspective of an African American lived experience.

All this would would look much better and less biased if they didn’t rule that business owners were allowed to discriminate without reason, about the same time.

Ah, yes, the case involving the female website designer that didn’t want to make websites for same-sex couples.

And, a person she claimed was a same-sex individual asking for website design services, said he never made the request and has been married to a woman for 15 years.

The supreme court ruling on the affirmative action case will be largely symbolic. Colleges that want to continue their affirmative action policies will do so. Harvard et al have unlimited funds to hire lawyers to fabricate proxy policies. Few potential plaintiffs have the wherewithal to line up against those same lawyers in court.

Quick Dwad impersonation for your constructive criticism:

Scene: general discourse is “holy shit!! Did you guys see this asshat crazy fuck that shot up a ____ and had a racist mani-fucking-festo declaring his blatant racism?!?!” What can we do about this?!”

Dwad: “-insert pile of thoughtless bullshit here-“

I hope this was worth the wait. It took some time.

Thomas has never missed an opportunity to pull up the ladder behind him. Which is only acceptable in a zombie apocalypse.

Protest only works if it impacts people.

And a protest, any protest, that can reach a desired impact without offending, is a superior protest.

That Biden is mobilizing truanannazdpressur?

And Mexico is paying for it.

Better than Burisma.

So let’s say Trump doesn’t run or loses the primary. Will everyone jump on whoever the Republican nominee is as a racist or traitor. Much of the news media comes out against anyone showing a possible rise in the polls that’s republican or even dem running against Trump. Or as Hillary said, half of America is deplorables?

Biden ran from his basement with the news media support. Been on vacation 40% of his presidency. Almost never talks to the media, and if he does it is the same media who typical question is what ice cream he likes. IMHO Biden is a walking zombie
