The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

Cassidy Hutchinson dumped the Trump-provided lawyer and flipped. “Employee #4” (the IT guy) dumped the Trump-provided lawyer and flipped.

“Immediately after receiving new counsel, Trump Employee 4 retracted his prior false testimony and provided information that implicated Nauta, [Carlos] De Oliveira, and Trump in efforts to delete security camera footage, as set forth in the superseding indictment,” the filing says.

Seems likely that Mr. Woodward is going to find out what MAGA really stands for.

Sorry I may not always agree with y’all Ivan. I tend to like the US. I have no idea how trump ends up. I do know a lot of crap has been thrown out over the years. Untrue. Biden gets a walk for his family taking money from China. Money trace path. Who is fooling who? No one should be above the law. Media should say that, or they are disingenuous. NY times ran open that voting is undemocratic. Get real people, this is our country. We are blessed to live here. Help your neighbor out. Don’t criticize your neighbor just because you may disagree. Most of not very few to miniscule, are racists, bigots, nazis, etc el.

Saw this out on the intertubes: “For all those right-wingers who want ‘Civil War’: Your leaders are already surrendering in Atlanta again. How many times do you want to do this?”

Quick point of clarification - I don’t believe Hutchinson was indicted. She dumped her lawyer paid for by Bone Spur Donnie during the Jan. 6 hearings and recanted her testimony. As far as I can tell, she wasn’t charged in any of the recent indictments. Or am I missing entirely?

Even your brain worms are dizzy from the flip/flop there. Trump has been INDICTED BY A JURY OF HIS PEERS in every single one of the court cases that is going to trial.

As of yet, I have yet to see anything but complete and total circumstantial whataboutist evidence at best, and all in the court of public opinion. If there is actual evidence, take him to court and have a trial. So far, it’s all just bullshit to try and drag him down and get the Right Wing slapdicks that only read headlines riled up.

NY times ran open that voting is undemocratic. Get real people, this is our country.

Speaking of headlines, do you know what an op/ed is? Clearly not.

Greg Abbott and most states’ Republicans agree that we shouldn’t be voting.

Not charged, but she has said that she was being coached to have a terrible memory of events, and felt very uncomfortable with that. She was smart enough to figure out that she was being pushed to perjure herself in order to save Trump’s fat orange ass.

Who of the following had a bank account in China that, while sitting as president, filled up with an usually large amount of money that was then instantly transferred into their personal account?
a. Joe Biden
b. Donald Trump
c. Don’t be a fucking idiot, it was Donald Trump.

In 2017, Trump’s Chinese bank account suddenly - and still without any explanation as to why - swelled by $17.5 million; more than the prior 5 years revenue combined. Trump then transferred that money into his personal account.

Democrats close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears and say “LALALA” when they are showed evidence about their party committing crimes, especially Joe Biden who has a history of lies and corruption. Then they will turn it around and start the “it’s Trump’s fault, orange man bad” bullshit.

I still say, if my neighbor is my enemy because we disagree. Who are you counting on besides family

The noted legal minds of Judge Luttig and Lawrence Tribe have published their treatise on how Trump is already disqualified to run for president. The Luttig-Tribe bottom line is that the 14th Amendment doesn’t require a conviction to render an insurrectionist ineligible, it happens automatically upon doing an insurrection. But how would that be enforced?

For one, any state’s Secretary of State simply could remove such a person from the ballot - either primary or general - the same way as if they were too young or foreign-born. Of course, that would draw a lawsuit in a nanosecond from the would-be candidate. The SoS could comply or not, which would trigger lawsuits/appeals, and those cases would wend their way through the courts and end up ultimately at the Supreme Court.

Alternatively, if a state’s SoS includes such an allegedly ineligible candidate on the ballot, anyone with standing - e.g. another candidate - could file a lawsuit to have th e supposedly ineligible candidate removed. The SoS could comply or not, which would trigger lawsuits/appeals, and those cases would wend their way through the courts and end up ultimately at the Supreme Court.

There may well be other ways in which this could come about, and all of them will end up at the Supreme Court who will have the final say in the matter (or they cold decline to hear the appeals, which is unlikely). There’s no orange bullet here.

No orange bullet, no, but if it’s the right thing to do it’s the right thing to do. And it’s obviously the right thing to do.

It’s maddening how passive we can be in defense of our own principles. I am reminded of a running joke a friend of mine and I have about a time a stretch of Illinois Highway was adopted by the local branch of the KKK. We would impersonate a fictionalized bureaucrat in the Adopt-a-Highway office resignedly calling her boss: “I mean what can I do, Paul, they filled out the paperwork just right!!”

Except that he doesn’t really give a fuck about the paperwork either.

Those who actually give a shit about America keep pulling out the chair for this chickenshit conman sleaze bag to sit down in, hoping against hope that things will work out. Not entirely unlike David Cameron and the Brexit plebiscite: inviting catastrophe on a dare.

If state after state caves and lets this would be dictator onto their ballots, we will deserve whatever we get.

After Biden’s speech in Maui where he compared a small kitchen fire he once had to what these people in Maui are experiencing, along with all of his other gaffes, corruption, age, and dementia, Biden needs to be stopped from running for President. It’s the right thing to do.

You cannot take a person off of a ballot because you don’t like him.

Agreed. Make the case and make the Supreme Court strike it down. While it’s highly likely they would, it’s worth remembering that they refused to hear appeals on Trump’s ridiculous election challenges. So I’m saying there is a chance…

I hope this is getting teed up around the country; either states removing Trump from the ballot or those with standing lining up to challenge why they have not.

I suspect that establishment Republicans would love for Trump to be struck from the ballot. They could embrace Trump’s victimhood, without having to have anything to do with the man himself or whatever is his latest brain excretion masquerading as policy.

Even though I think this would help the GOP, it should be done because, as you say, it’s the right thing to do. After all, a party risking our very democracy for a perceived edge at the polls is what got us here in the first place.

Funny how certain people just automatically get hearings in the SC, or at least expect them. I thought it was a long, arduous process to get to the SC?

So that they can go ahead and run Chris Christie, who I think is the Bush/Romney establishment choice. They want all the money but don’t want the social upheaval.

I think DeSaster would get the nomination by default. Everyone hates Christie.

Agreed, but he’s attacking Trump like he’s running for the nomination, not veep or a cabinet post like the rest.
