The Inevitable What About The Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread Thread

Apparently they got their shit straight and the deal is back on. It had to do with any behavior that was not specifically covered. Which would seem normal. It turned out to be a big nothingburger.

Which is what will happen with all of this “get Trump” bullshit. See: Mueller, Robert.

Something has happened to Mitch McConnell. He froze at the podium mid-sentence. If it’s a stroke, I don’t think I’ve heard of one like it. His staff had to lead him away.

He apparently came back and answered questions, so hopefully it’s not too serious.

How strange. I’ve never seen something like that.

You have McConnell potentially stroking out in front of the cameras and Feinstein being wheeled around like it’s Weekend at Bernie’s while Grassley is well on the way to completing his transition into Grandpa Simpson. Leahy was in office for nearly 50 years, and only stepped down this year as he was no longer able to fog up a mirror.

This is why we need term limits for Congress.

In the House hearing with DHS Sec. Mayorkas today:

Gaetz: Stream of consciousness recitation of Fox News talking points about immigration.

Mayorkas: “I disagree with everything you have said.”

He didn’t look much better upon his return.

Has Moscow Mitch ever looked good?

Remember a couple of years ago when his lips were all black and puffy, and it looked like his hand was about to rot off?

Well, when one is rotten to their empty fucking core/sans a soul, I guess that’s their natural look.

Seems they have simply kicked the can a little. Biden pleaded “not guilty” to the misdemeanors as a placeholder while they iron out the details. One of the main concerns that Team Biden has is that he has become something of a punching bag for Republicans, and they want broad immunity to avoid him being dragged through the mire again by a future administration.

In case you think that is a far-fetched scenario, House Republicans last night tried to file a number of amicus briefs with the presiding judge in order to rat-fuck the deal. No biggie; just the legislative branch trying to insert itself into the judicial branch’s business.

Yes and a President who stumbles and falls constantly and can’t keep up reading his teleprompter.

Now, there’s a clear example of “weaponization of the government.” I wonder whether the press has the ability to recognize the obvious, or will they just report on what the Republicans shout about during that committee’s hearings.

This morning, I saw some dopey CNN reporter badger a Dem House member on whether Hunter capitalized on his father’s name and whether that was grounds for impeachment. He did this with a straight face, apparently unaware that that was SOP for the Trump family.

We need term limits. It’s time for the old broken down crow to step down.

It’s also time for Biden to step down. He’s in the same condition as the old broken down crow.

Does everything stop in the Senate when Murder She Wrote comes on?

Trump’s lawyers just wrapped up their meeting with Jack Smith’s team, and were told to expect an indictment. I guess their arguments weren’t persuasive.

Any reporting on who else will be indicted?

Not that I have seen.

On this topic though, I have seen it posited that Jack Smith is doing this somewhat backwards, in that he may indict the head of the criminal enterprise before any of the underlings. If this is true, it may be because all of the underlings have flipped and are cooperating under a plea agreement.

What will be interesting is whether Smith ropes in the likes of Cruz, Graham, Brooks and other elected officials. Fani Willis seems almost certain to haul them up in her net, so Smith might want to get in first. We can assume that those directly connected to the main plot (Meadows, Giuliani etc.) have flipped, but we don’t know if Smith has even talked to any of the Senators or House Reps.
