Texans 2024

Of course.

Perfect ending.

Perfect

Fairbairn completely destroyed any chance to win this game.

He just doesn’t seem to feel the pocket pressure. That’s the thing that makes Mahomes (and Allen and Jackson) so exasperating.

No, it’s on Slowik for asking Schultz to block a pass rusher.

Yeah, that was a pathetic attempt.

What a fucking dickstomp.

Andy Reid is a shit sack.

Great defense, embarrassing special teams, futile red zone offense. They have a lot of work to do but they’re not necessarily that far away. Serious improvement is predicated on a new OC which of course will not happen under any circumstances.

If they want to win a divisional round game, they have to play it at home. That means you can’t lose to the Jets. You can’t lose to the Titans. You can’t blow 2H leads against the Packers and Lions. They’re in a tough spot because their offensive coordinator hamstrung them in games they should have easily won.

That’s basically my point. They are dangerously close to being an elite team, but the OL and especially the OC are holding the back. I didn’t think much of Slowik las year, but watching CJ regress in every aspect of his game this year should be immediately disqualifying.

They had a really good offensive game plan going, running the ball. Then their second possession in the 2H, they completely abandoned it in favor of the same old stupidity. It’s like Slowik saw they were moving the ball with relative ease and said ā€œwhoa, we gotta fix thatā€.

At some point in your franchise history you have to win a road playoff game.

True. But there is no excuse for not hosting a division game in your franchise’s history either. They didn’t host this year because Bobby Slowik is a football moron.

Slowik isn’t good, but the offensive problems are much greater than just him. This team isn’t an AFC contender talent-wise.

Hosting this year wasn’t because of Slowik, no matter that he’s awful. To host a division game they would have had to have a better record than two of KC, Buffalo, and Baltimore. That wasn’t going to happen even with Bill Walsh as OC as long as Tunsil was driving the clown car up front.

Tunsil is far, so far, from the worst problem with the OL.

I’d start with the coach and the schemes. If OL coach isn’t fired tomorrow I’ll be disappointed.

No, I’m saying the entire OL is a clown car, but Tunsil gets to be the poster child for the entire sorry collection.

I don’t get it: he’s overpaid? Yes. He’s the best OL they have? Also yes.
