Either a late arriving crowd or just preseason apathy but lots of empty seats.
I’m assuming preseason as fans have to be optimistic for the upcoming season.
I can’t fathom paying to go to a preseason game.
Invite me to a club suite with free food/drinks…that’s a different story
The only reason to tune in is to watch the hole in the roof.
I pay for the preseason games as part of my season tickets, or as the NFL likes to describe it, being a “Season Ticket Member”. I went for the first half, but with the damaged roof, my seats are in the sun all game. Bailed at the half. I’ll go again next week and hope it’s remedied before the next noon game.
What happened to the roof?
Damaged during Hurricane Beryl. They’re hoping to have it fixed before the first noon regular season game on September 29th.
Sounds like a month+ from being fixed.
Yes, they are 4-6 weeks away, hopefully. They have another preseason game next week, but the next day game isn’t until September 29th. They’re hoping to have it fixed by then.
On the broadcast, they said, due to the roof damage, games are treated as “outdoor.” Meaning, if there is nearby lightening, it is delayed. I just found that notable.
A friend who works with the Texans said he didn’t think they’d fix the roof this season. Hope that isn’t the case.
They keep saying they’ll get it fixed. It’s not impossible they’re lying, but not sure why they would.
They have not, however, changed their policy about bringing an empty water bottle in to the stadium. Mrs Hawk is gonna read them the riot act tomorrow.
The roof is injured. Why would you expect it back anytime soon?
Ceiling discomfort
C.J. is number 4 ?!?!?

That’s higher than you expected?
Make the pie higher!
Aight, Texans, time to back up all the hype
So much hype and good vibes going into this season. That scares me tbh.
