Mills was managing this game just fine until the fumble. That was a game-changer. I wouldn’t give up on him yet.
Defense had its moments, but we’re gassed late. And Taylor is a fucking machine.
Still, chance after chance and couldn’t make it happen. They were out-talented at every single position, and still played well enough to win. This team isn’t the disaster many are hoping they are.
I know you know, but he’s not a rookie. It’s been a lot of games, and an off-season, and pre-season. If he is going to develop into an NFL average QB, or potentially better than a average, I would have expected to see more progress from last year.
It’s been 12 games, most of which he was forced into and he played pretty damn good. Then he had to switch head coaches, offensive systems, and he still came out and played pretty good, good enough to beat a much more talented team. And again…his progress from last year consists entirely of one game. You honestly expected he would be Aaron Rodgers in his prime already?
ETA: not to mention an offensive line that a sieve and exactly zero weapons at WR and RB. I don’t know if he’ll end up being a decent QB or not, but I’m not ready to give up on him based on a handful of games with a terrible team around him.
Stingley had 1 PI on a deep ball down inside the 10, was very good coverage but he got a little handsy when he didn’t need to. Next play he got beat for a TD but the receiver was out of bounds.
No, 3rd and 1 was when they ran a sweep with their TE (who lost a yard, his 2nd career carry) instead of giving it to their RB who’s averaging 6+ YPC today
