Texans 2022

Watson was a great pick…as was Hopkins and Clowney and Watt and Kareem Jackson and Duane Brown and Mario Williams and Brian Cushing and Demeco Ryans and Owen Daniels and Andre Johnson. Sure, they missed on some, ever team has. They’ve won division titles in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019, all while people wailed at what an abject catastrophe they were. I don’t get it. Some people are just complainers, I guess.

Yes, yes they are.

It’s pretty fucking hilarious that people who have the temerity to call into question the leadership and direction of what is widely considered to be the single worst run major sports organization in all of North America are called ‘complainers.’

And of course it was not ‘one guy’ who decimated the team, it was at the very least a duo of idiots who were hands-on during that shitshow, and of course one of them is still there. And yes, of course, the fuckwit who let all of that happen is still in charge.

Complainers. That’s too good.

For the record, I do not follow the Texans nor do I know anything about them. I was speaking generally about the complainers (and judgmental people) in the world.

If Tommy Boy McNair and Easterby let Caserio do his job…if…there is hope.

It’s perfectly legit to call into question the current leadership. My comment was in response to the one suggesting that the Texans have always been this way and have never drafted well or had success.

I don’t see anyone arguing that. The Texans have lately had some success in a weak division, which I suppose is better than no success in a weak division, and about a decade ago had a team that had the quarterback stayed healthy they might have worked their way into the Super Bowl conversation at some point. I think everyone around here is pretty clear on all this.

The comment that rational decisions were “new territory” for the Texans is what precipitated my comment. I think that’s an unfair indictment of the franchise history. I have never argued that the current state isn’t a mess.

It was a fucking joke, Hudson.

I get that. And I think your fucking joke was based on an unfair and unwarranted perception of the Texans and their fans.

The legacy of Bill O’Brien: pissing off Texans fans since 2014

And while we’re having fun I’ll say that I’m nowhere near sold on Caserio. Let’s remember that he was recommended by Easterby and hired by Cal so I have to work under the assumption that he’s every bit as insane as those two are.

My fan interest, it was never strong, was finally lost when they traded away Hopkins. BTW, that is an assessment not a complaint.

I’m not sold on him either, I’ll just say that early returns suggest he’s not a total muppet. He may have found a diamond (or at least a topaz) in Mills and I really think Nico Collins has a high ceiling. Stingley is a gamble, but if it pays off, he might be a great pick. Getting something, anything, for Watson was a plus.

Pissing him off to a degree to where he flatly refused to play for the team anymore was a minus.

That wasn’t Caserio, was it?

Not exactly. It was Caserio’s hiring that sent him right off the massage table.

Cal and Easterby not letting him sit on the hiring committee for the new coach and GM was allegedly the last straw, iirc.

You kept/keep saying this, yet they ended up getting pretty much exactly what everyone around the league said they would. 3 firsts and some extra picks.
