Passrush or OL, WR works too.
It’s too early to take him at 13, but I keep hearing that the C from Iowa, Linderbaum, is a “generational” player at that position. I do expect them, given all their talk, to trade down or up at some point this round.

This is a defensive rich draft class. A pass rusher would be nice. But they’re a sieve on the OL.
This is true, but now the 3 top OT/OG are gone
Texans trade their other first round pick.
For?
(I assume a bag of beans)
They haven’t said yet
Looks like part of the deal is the Eagles pick, which is at 15. So they move down two spots, and assume there’s something else.
So the Texans move down two spots, get a fourth round and two fifth round picks.
And the Texans select…
Kenyon Green, OL from Texas A&M
That’s a surprisingly sensible move
I thought they’d take that DE from FSU, but this is a solid pick
Texans have 11 picks remaining (1 2nd, 2 3rd) so I would imagine there will be some trading up at some point.
Breece Hall would be a solid RB upgrade.
The Texans have absolutely no talent on either side. They need as many picks as they can get.
This has been well noted and acknowledged…it’s the shotgun approach with their 4-6th rounders versus targeting a trade-up guy they really want in the 2/3rd (or wherever). They have enough picks to do both. I like the “both” plan.
2nd and 3rd round picks should be solid NFL players. There is no reason to not upgrade significantly with at least three more picks, and maybe get lucky with later round guys. Again, unless they screw it up. Evidence so far is they are making rational decisions. Hopefully that continues.

This is indeed new territory for Texans fans.
I know people like to rag on the Texans as the model for a miserable franchise who’ve never had any success, but they’ve had some good teams, and have made good picks in the past. They let one guy decimate an otherwise talented team, and it’s going to take time to undo that. No reason they can’t though.
Who is the one guy? There were people who let BOB be in charge and wreck things. Aren’t they still there?
I will never understand the “hire Brian Gaine”, “fire Brian Gaine”, “give O’Brien the job” series of events.
The Rick Smith/Kubiak years were fun, frustrating at times but still comparatively fun. They had a hole in 1 with the Watson pick, also fun and frustrating, who really knew he was going to turn out to be a diva/deviant?
I don’t know if you’re serious or just taking the opportunity to be exactly the kind of person I was talking about.
