Texans 2022

I’m shocked that a locker-room Chaplin didn’t work out as a executive vice president of football operations for a NFL franchise.

All tied up at the half in Vegas

Jonathon Owens may be the worst later in the NFL.

I’m starting to, very begrudgingly, come around to the idea that Mills might not be a total write-off. But good lord is the rest of this team terrible. I don’t understand what the secondary is out there trying to do, at all.

Raiders have shredded this Texans defense.

Mills has no weapons in the passing game. No one can get open, the defense doesn’t have to cover downfield. Pierce has given them at least something on the ground, but they have to get some receivers.

Mills is not terrible, but he’ll never be a top ten league qb, maybe not even top half of the league. So do you look for a qb this year, or do you continue to ignore the reality surrounding you and pretend like you can win with Mills? They’re plainly going to go with Door #2, but I would keep looking for a qb.

If a top flight QB is available, absolutely you take him. In the mean time you plug away with Mills, and try to continue to upgrade talent across the board. That’s how bad you let Easterby and BOB hamstring you

The Texans held the Titans to 6/10 passing for 55 yards, and sacked then 3 times for 15 yards, for a nifty 40 yards of passing.

The Texans lost.

Another way to look at is the Titans ran for 300+ yards and still had to defend an onsides kick at the end of the game.

If the Texans could have done something with the two turnovers, this may have been a different game.

Another way to look at it is the Texans made their best effort at securing the first pick.

Henry’s last 4 games against the Texans are almost 900 yards and 9 TD

Yeah, I was rooting hard for the interception returner to score, cause the offense wasn’t likely to punch it in.

Why bother throwing a pass when you can simply grind your opponent into the turf with your running game?

On one of their TDs, the Texan defender started towards the ball, saw a blocker coming at him and started bailing backwards to the goal line.

Had to have been Jonathan Owens. He’s awful. The defense is better than it was last year, but he’s terrible. To paraphrase the late, great John McKay, he can’t cover, but he makes up for it by not tackling.

The Panthers need to fire their kicker if they haven’t already. Also D J Moore is a dumbass and screwed PJ Walker.

Oof!

Don’t know when this was taken, but there are players on the field.

…and I just realized that the Texans play the Eagles of Philadelphia on Thursday. If the World Series doesn’t end in Philly, this could turn into a home game for the Eagles.

That was at the very end of the game, inside the last minute. Still, yesterday was the least exciting NFL game I think I’ve ever attended. There was no energy whatsoever, not even from Titan fans. It was like watching the Shawhank Redemption on TBS for the 5,481st time. You know how it ends, but there is literally nothing else on.

As for Thursday…Thursday nights are worst nights for fans. There is virtually no “gameday experience” whatsoever. Couple this with the World Series going on, and no interest in the Texans, and it’ll more likely be more of the same.
