I don’t know whether to congratulate you or not

The Astros bullpen is going to be down another high-leverage reliever to start the season.

Bennett Sousa will be on the IL to begin the season.

This (LaLoosh) is at least the post of the week.

Dammit! Maybe Cosgrove gets a shot or Lambert whom Rome says the Astros love though he got hit around for the first time this spring last night.

McTaggart wrote a really good story about how Carlos Correa and his young son Kylo nearly drowned in Lake Minnetonka last summer and the way it’s changed Correa’s perspective on life.

As I read that this morning, I had so many “what/why?” questions.

So glad he and his kid were ok

Seems like every holiday weekend we’d have a story like that on one or more of the lakes in north Texas.

Either someone would swim out from the boat too far or do so from one of the parks on the shore.

Exhaustion sets in quickly and you’re in trouble before anyone around you realizes it.

Wear your PFDs.

Informed they will not make the OD roster: Taylor Trammell, Peter Lambert, Cavan Biggio, Carlos Perez.

Burrows will start the second game of the season.

It’s sounding to me like Pena will be on the opening day roster unless they have a setback

What on God’s little acre leads you believe there will not be a setback?

I’m surprised it didn’t hit Yordan in the knee.

McCullers gets the last rotation spot:

That can’t possibly end well.

It’ll end quickly I imagine.

Yeah, I figure that’s the strategy. Get started on the next rehab as soon as possible.

If he throws an inning past Memorial Day I’ll be gobsmacked.

Gonna have to pay him regardless, might as well be 100% certain it’s over and give him one last shot to contribute

That makes total sense.

But I was at 100% a while back.

If Spencer spends 17 or more days in AAA, the Astros get an additional year of control before he hits FA.

I wonder how much this impacted the decision?

He was clearly beat out by 5 other starters, but 2 weeks ago Dana Brown said they were going to start the season with a 6 man rotation. Clearly bullpen injuries didn’t change his mind.
