A quick and unreflective contrarian thought about this, is that last year I was taken aback by how many teams did so poorly and yet got so little for it. Just losing 90 games was only good for the 15th pick or something (probable exaggeration acknowledged). Yet you had this massive league-wide sort of dilution of competitiveness. So maybe one thing we’ll see with a broader more inclusive playoff format is fewer teams attempting to lose 95 games.
