Cameron’s movies are great action flicks, but Robocop is operating on about a dozen different levels…while still being a great action flick.

A vastly larger budget helped.
From when the xenomorphs cut the power to when Ripley airlocks the queen is 40 minutes. 40 fucking minutes!

I tend to favor dystopian stories over space exploration stories. Like Soylent Green or The Omega Man/Legend, or the original Rollerball.
