It’s not ending, yet. There’s a good amount of money freed up with Brantley, Maton, Stanek, and Neris unlikely to return. They need to get more bullpen pieces; maybe Martinez can figure shit out and get back to 2022 levels. Maybe some internal candidates, but probably need to look at the FA market.
They also need another starter to go with JV/Framber/Javier. Who knows when Garcia will be back, Brown is a huge question mark, and Urquidy wasn’t great this year (possibly due to shoulder injury). We’re beyond the point of thinking Lance is reliable.
Probably need a LF to take most of the work out there; let Yordan mostly DH.
If this season’s collapse is reallly due to fatigue, they should be able to bounce back and contend again.
If they don’t re-sign Neris I will be greatly disappointed
