Roster Moves 2026

He is. Or was. He was just informed of the trade

So much for that reporting.

That’s a pretty steep price for a guy who has been capital b Bad this year.

Which one are you talking about. Our former P has been pretty bad too.

Arrighetti had a great May, but imho, he isn’t anything special. I’d rather have Bryan Abreu and Varsho than Larnach and Arrighetti.

I hope I am wrong but I’m not sure Varsho is an upgrade over the guys we’ve been running out there, at the plate at least

Making challenge trades in a pennant race is certainly a choice.

Except for that month he was awesome.

Vaesho is a huge upgrade if he hits like the past couple of years. But if he hits like this year, it’s not really an upgrade at all.

Huh. Varsho feels like Jake Meyers 2.0 - tremendous glove, iffy bat (at least, this year).

We’ll see what Varsho does at the plate, but you add him to Cam Smith in RF and we look pretty damn good defensively.

Haven’t seen if the Blue Jays are picking up part of the tab on Varsho. Astros looking to add a starter

Spaghetti had some nice games here for sure.

But I don’t think we’ll rue his departure.

It’s a risk, but I’ll take Daulton Varsho in center field over anyone the Astros have. Trammell can still play in LF versus RHP.

Arrighetti isn’t someone I’ll lose sleep over trading. He gets in trouble because he stops throwing strikes. Pitchers with his profile are replaceable.

Blue Jays are paying some of Varshos salary

MLB trade rumors saying Astros have discussed with the Nationals about Forest Griffin

IIRC, folks in here (do not remember who) were wanting Varsho last year. I am not weeping over Spaghetti.

It seems like the Astros have been after him for years if you believe the rumors. Took a while, but they finally got their guy.

FWIW, Varsho was an above average hitter through June. He had an awful July, tanking his overall line.

April: .250.326.463.788

May: .283.350.425.775

June: 250.311 .475.786

(226 at bats across the three months)

Defensively, he’s been worth four outs above average in center field according to Baseball Savant metrics.

Varsho will be in the lineup tonight
