He was a great Astro, but he appears done to me.
Lance will always be an Astro and I wi have great memories of him.
That said its like Jose Cruz for the Yankees in 1988, Terry Puhl for the Royals in 1991, or countless others.
Time comes for us all and playing for another team at the end of a career doesn’t change his Astros legacy.

That’s what I noticed as well. If not in his contract he’s certainly a 10-5 guy.
I cannot imagine the grit and strength of character it takes to keep trying to come back from all his injuries. He easily could have given up and coasted out his career on the 60 man several times, but he absolutely battled to get back to help the team each time.

By my math LMJ is due to make just under $7M from now through the end of the season, so the Astros are still on the hook for most of it the Brewers are kicking in $2-3M.
So based on age and when he signed, does that mean Fielder’s son signed as a FA out of HS? I didn’t even know that was possible, but after thinking about it, I guess nothing should prohibit it from happening. it probably just doesn’t happen very often. He must’ve really wanted to get started with his pro career.
Yep. The Astros have grabbed some UDFA out of high schools over the years. Jagger Beck in ‘25 is the most recent, I think.

For me Lance’s last great, important outing was in 2022 in game 3 against Seattle:
6 IP, 2H. 2 BB. 0 R.
While it doesn’t stick in the memory banks like Garcia’s role in that game, LMJ did more than his job in holding the home team scoreless.
He was a team leader that year in a way that many of us thought unlikely early in his career when he seemed like a flake.
