I don’t necessarily disagree. I’m not a Spurs fan, but someone has to win the Finals, and I was hoping given the circumstances it would be them. They still might, but they’ve got a mighty tough row to hoe.
Double digit leads in each game and they won one. I’d love to see the comparison of time with the lead. Amazing rake stepping by the Spurs and incredible gutsy play from the Knicks.
The Spurs still have a lot to learn about how to hold on to a lead and close out games. But as disappointed as the Finals were, the Spurs were ahead of schedule. I expect them to be better next year.
They also raved about the 2015 Yankees, about how far ahead of schedule they were and would simply dominate the league the next 10 years, probably winning 5-6 World Series between 2016 and 2026.
