Rockets 2025-2026 (also general NBA and Spurs but fuck the Mavs)

Due to restrictive territorial broadcasting rights For the past 30 plus years, other than nationally broadcast games, I’ve only been able to watch the Spurs on television. So, I got to watch the Rockets only when they played the Spurs or were on a national broadcast. I’m enjoying being able to see all the NBA games on TV this year since the NBA has eliminated regular season territorial broadcast restrictions for the 2025–26 season. I don’t know if it’s temporarily free or if the League Pass comes with DirecTV stream. They are probably employing one of the Stringer Bell Marketing Methods of product introduction; give it to them, get them hooked, then make them pay.

The Rockets dropped to 0-2 losing tonight at home to a shitty Pistons team 115 - 111. Well, it’s early maybe the Piston are a better team this year, but the Rockets should not be losing home games to them. Fact: Ausar Thompson outplayed the guy drafted before him, twin brother Amen Thompson.

The Spurs had to go to OT to beat the Pelicans in New Orleans 120 - 116. Wemby had 29 points, 11 rebounds, along with 9 blocked shots, before fouling out in OT. He’s 21 years old. Plays like a combination of the best of Durant, Olajuwon and Jabbar. Has a strong desire to get better.

No one else got arrested by the Feds…yet.

Wemby is the most incredible thing in sports this side of Shohei

Wemby has as many career games with 10 blocks as 0 blocks

The Rocket vs Spurs game is on Prime tonight. Starts in 5 minutes. Should be a good game.

Camera cuts to Wemby drinking from one of those 24 ounce thermal cups but it looks much smaller, like a 12 ounce cup in his hands

Didn’t Sengun drop 50 on Wemby last season?

I don’t recall. Shepherd might get 50 tonight.

I was sorta close

Spurs lead 51-50 at the half.

8 minutes left, rockets 90 Spurs 95

Man, the Rockets pulling a Texans on the Bucks, coming from 8? Down with 90 seconds to go. Now up 6 with 24 secs to go.

ETA: my facts are all wrong here, but it was a nice comeback

40-30 in the 4Q, 72 to 54 in the 2H…It’s a day full of surprises!

So what’s the consensus for the Rockets?

Finish in the top 4 of the conference?

Missing FVV for the year, the vet PG, is not ideal, but they are fun to watch and will be a factor in the Western Conference.

That’s my guess. I expect them to improve throughout, as they’re still real young.

NBA has their version of “City Connect” uniforms. IMO, they look awesome.
