Reds at Astros, 6/18/23

We did. Everyone had a citrus tree or two. Groves everywhere and you could load up if you wanted. They’ve pretty well disappeared since my youth.

28, 29, I just want to know if it has what it takes

Same thing happened in Orange County where my friend Connor grew up. He’s about my age, so most of the groves were gone when he was a kid but apparently there were still quite a few when he was a kid.

Abreu…0-2…foul…foul…1-2 as Tucker takes 2B…tying run in scoring position…

Abreu with a chance to be a hero…

ETA - nope.

Serious blight on the 90s. Most oranges now come from South America. A few “boutique” producers left, but most of the majors gone.

Diaz singles to LF, Tucker to 3B…

Chas…tying run at 3B…WooHoo!

Man, Fraley is an adventure out there.

Sngle to LF, Tucker scores to tie it up, Diaz to 3B

Hopefully Dusty’ll find a way to get Yainer some rest soon.

Peña up…winning run at 3B…intentionally walked to load the sacks for Julks…

Chas McCormick, good ballplayer that one.

Julks hacking…grounds into 5-4-3

Free baseball. Again

Shit

Corey Julks, less so.

Citrus Greening Disease is also a serious threat to the industry. It’s spread throughout CA, TX, FL and devastating groves.

Normally, I’d like our chances in extras at home.

Well, fuck… About time to win the first extra inning game of the year.

Simon and Garfunkle time.
