Astros win 9-4!
Losing streak broken
The Astros are going to have to outscore teams to win, clearly, and in order to do that youâll need Chas and Yainer in the lineup every day. You will absolutely get some ugly at bats, and youâll get some adventurous defense at first when Yainerâs over there. But you need to score six, eight, ten runs to win, and those two guys are the only way to do it.
Our old friend Aroldis Chapman blew the 1-0 lead vs the D-backs with a 1 out HR to Ketel Marte in the 9th. Rangers fail to score in the top of the 10th. Chapman back out for bot of the 10th. 1-1
Rangers internationally walk the tying run with 2 outs in the 11th and not only does he score but the winning run does too
Never intentionally bring up the winning run
Rangers score 2 top of 11th. D-backs score 3 to walk it off.
Only 1.5 games back after our miserable weekend. We have got a chance.
Both teams IBB a crucial run on base in the 11th. LOL
2 out IBB to Seager. He scored.
2 out IBB to Marte. He scored the tying run with the winning run behind him.
Chapman and Will Smith blew each of their save opportunities.
Yeah, but still basically in 3rd place. They need to worry more about the Mariners at this point than the Rangers. Letâs just worry about winning.
Conventional wisdom is you can walk the tying run, but not the winning run.
Exactly. Just win, and ignore the standings.
The Mariners are playing very good baseball right now. Hope something cools them off. Agree, win and donât look at the standings.
Iâm hoping we can count on Servais to foul things up.
Iâm willing to bet that Rodriguez doesnât keep hitting .900 the rest of the way.
Mariners are playing Whitesox, Royals, and Aâs over the next eight games, so he may hit .900 for a while, yet.
Mariners have extremely easy schedule next 11 games but it gets much tougher in September.
Rangers and Mariners play each other 7 times in the final 10 games.
The Astros just need to take care of their own business. Win the games they are supposed to win then let those 2 knock each other off.
In case it wasnât mentioned earlier, Yainer tied the Astros record for HR by a catcher in a single season last night (excluding players who appeared as catcher in less than half of their games played, e.g. Gattis).
Not bad for a backup catcher
