Yesterday in southeast Minnesota, walking through a small town local grocery store, I asked the manager, “Do Ya’ll have frozen chili?” He just stared at me. We found chili mix, and Fritos, and ground beef, and last night I was up all night with heartburn. I hope you appreciate what I’ve suffered for this team.

We stayed near Spring Grove, in Houston County. We actually bought the frito pie stuff in Decorah, Iowa.

See, that’s the Neil entanglement I was expecting. Decorah was one of the towns my Dad grew up in. I’ve got cousins in Preston, Lanesboro, Harmony, etc. My Dad and his mother were born in the same farmhouse near Houston. Grandparents lived 40+ years in Winona.

Chas and Castro got the RBI, but that was a team effort from Yordan and Correa beating out those ground balls, and Tucker for getting them over before the IBB to Diaz.

It’s a pretty amazing place, in a completely understated, Midwestern way. Not much for frito pie, but today I had the brat and kraut at the LaCrosse drive in with the hops on roller skates. I also had fried cheese curds.
