I’m a professional musician. Unions have done wonders for us and they make the career viable. But… just like these umps, unions don’t typically care who they’re protecting from job loss. Every situation is a “stand” against management. We get some folks retaining positions decades longer than they should because of it. It’s the same shit here with the umps and their union.
