I’m waiting for the doc to come in for a LASIK consultation. Meantime I read this, sent to me by a friend: Forget LASIK: Safer, cheaper vision correction could be coming soon | ScienceDaily. Sounds awesome but how long to wait?

Mrs Hawk had cataract surgery last year. Let’s be clear…I do not want cataracts. But the thought of lens replacement is not entirely uninviting.

I had it earlier this year. It’s quite liberating. Everything is sharper, brighter, and clearer. Really glad I had it done (not that there was a choice, my contact lenses were getting into the -10 range).

I had cataract surgery 15 or so years ago. Once you get past your trepidations of what they are actually going to do to you, the procedure and recovery are a walk in the park. My ophthalmologist followed up with “free” lasik surgery.
Do they have WiFI or just BlueTooth?
I had the cataract and lens replacement surgery three years ago. It has worked fine for driving and virtually all other activities but I still need to use readers, so I end up still wearing glasses most of the time anyway. I just get progressive lenses that are clear on the top 2/3 but are reader lenses on the bottom 1/3.
Just BlueEye.

Any of yall used a medium-to-heavy-duty stump grinder recently? Haven’t used on in a decade+, now I’m looking to rent one for a day

Absolutely. The next door neighbor in town has totally remodeled his rent house, and there were 4 trees on the property line between us that were planted in 1950 or so. They were trying to die and shed limbs, so we said his crew could cut them down, but we still haven’t dealt with the stumps. I’ll rent the machine, they’ll do the labor.
Haven’t used one for a decade or so, and I’m pretty sure my back molars are still rattling. The most expensive rental at Home Depot has tracks, not wheels.
We lost a couple of trees and hired an arborist.
The crew did an great job and after they ground the stump you couldn’t tell that a tree had been there at all.
Well the pine needles were a clue but still it was impressive.

Any of y’all have anything to say about EVO ICL surgery? It’s like they implant contact lenses. Supposed to be the only eye surgery you’ll ever need (til cataracts). Twice as expensive as LASIK.
I commented on that a few post up thread. That’s what I had. I didn’t pay the extra for the reading focal lens option, as it was twice as expensive as the basic lens replacement. Looking back, I kind of wish I would have sprung for the extra.

Didn’t realize that’s what you were talking about. How was the recovery?
I had to take it easy and not lift anything heavier that a gallon jug for a few days. I had one eye done first and then two or three weeks later did the second eye. I was anesthetized but aware, that part was really weird.
