Mets get it done. Take a 2-1 series lead.
I kinda gotta like the Phillies but it’s not that bad.
I think my hate for the Dodger began in 1965 when they refused to sign Herman Munster.
I was born in Philly and have a lot of relatives and friends up there that I don’t really ever talk to but given all the teams available in the post-season, I’m fine with the Phils. But to stick ti to MLB, I wouldn’t mind a KC/SD WS.
My gf is from Philadelphia and for the longest time I just played along but what makes it easy for me now was 2022.
After LA took an early lead on a Mookie Betts HR in the 1st, Buehler getting tagged in the 2nd.
SD 4-1 still batting.
6-1 now after a 2 run shot by Tatis
Tatis hits a 2 run homer. Now 6-1 Padres over the Dodgers. 2 outs.
The Tatis and Peralta hits were smoked, but Buehler’s defense let him down. Freeman made a bad throw to second and Miguel Rojas tried to beat Merrill to the bag at second and got no outs on a routine grounder.
That said, I’m here for Dodger tears, so I hope the Padres kick their ass again.
Dodgers get b2b singles from Rojas and Ohtani to lead off 3rd. And Betts singles, bases loaded no out.
Yes. A rematch. I was a Tigers fan the first time and would be again this time now that the Astros are gone.
Oof. Teoscar grand slam. 6-5 Padres.
This ain’t exactly been a pitcher’s duel.
Teoscar was one that got away. Considering the trade, him and Aoki for a 14 innings of 0-2 ball by Francisco Liriano–we got screwed on that one.
I recall a pretty significant out in the world series that made it all worth it.
I get that, but it’s not like he was the only one capable.
Who else should it have been?
Teoscar had no place to play.
I get that, but it’s not like he was the only one capable.
But he’s the one who did it. JD Martinez “got away.” Teoscar was an asset who was traded to try to win a world series, and it worked.
Good for Teoscar for developing an all-star career, but it’s always a bit of a toss up trading prospect for immediacy. Hell, I think Jake Rodgers might suddenly be making the Verlander trade worth it for the Tigers, against all odds.
Just looking at it from today’s perspective. I was all for it at the time.

This is very butterfly effect. There wouldn’t be a today without that trade.
But yeah, looking at our outfield production the last two years it would have been nice to have Teoscar running out there every day.
