The worst part is, no matter who wins, their idiot manager will be declared a genius for taking a rag tag team of scrappy underdogs, who nobody gave a chance to win, to hereto unforseen heights through sheer guts, determination, and belief in themselves when everyone else wrote them off.
I’m gonna keep going. You know, I can deal with cocky asshats winning. It happens all the time. My issue is with entitled, whiney fucks who think that somehow they were denied something that they felt was theirs. Like the Eagles when the Bucs smoked them in Philly to tear down the Vet. The Dodgers can just keep trying and trying until they’re humble enough to realize they got beat. Period.
So, about Ohtani. I find it hard to root for singular players in this team sport. Yes, he’s amazing and I feel fortunate to be watching him play but that doesn’t transcend the team aspect of the game. In a way, I enjoyed watching him more as an Angel and struggling along with the rest of the team. He really should have made a difference on that team and it’s a shame he never really did.
