Postseason 2020

Last one from me:

I have an ear for foreign languages.

There were 6 total hits tonight in ALDS Game 5 between the Rays and Yankees

That’s the fewest in a winner-take-all game in postseason history.

Prior fewest: 8, in the 2015 AL Wild Card Game between the Astros & Yankees

The story ended with revenge against Chapman. Games against the Astros will be a new story.

The Bill Mazeroski stat was butchered. To tell it right it has to include the proviso “in a winner take all game”

It’s a dumb stat that’s basically just commenting how rare a very specific rare situation is.

Ladies and gentlemen: the game of baseball.

At least the Dodgers are still playing. That’ll give MLB a reason to schedule Astros/Rays at 2:35 in the afternoon.

Still waiting for Jomboy’s breakdown, but I have not checked in a couple of hours.

This wasn’t even a “winner take all” game. That phrase implies winning the game wins something, not just move to the next round.

Spot on.

Elimination game.

Winner takes the field Sunday game.

Not winner takes all game.

“Winner take all” was the wording I saw used by people on Twitter, which was obviously then scrambled through to the broadcast

Jomboy has become the biggest Astros fan on the planet. That’s all he thinks about. Love it.

I don’t think we’ll beat the Rays, but hey, tee it up! I did not think we’d beat the Twins or the As either.

I don’t make predictions about Postseason baseball. It’s way too unpredictable. The Astros heated up at the right time. For the most part Dusty has managed the pitching well. It only gets harder from here though. I’m just gonna enjoy what I can, of which Trevor Bauer and Gerrit Cole having to watch on TV is a huge part.

Regardless of what happens, the Rays knocking out the Yankees means I can happily root for the ALCS winner in the WS no matter who it is. The Rays are easy to root for.

They sure are.

And the Astros finally showed in the LDS the offense everyone had been waiting for all year. They absolutely pummeled an excellent pitching staff. If they show up again nobody is safe.

Agreed, Waldo. Braves fan in the NL now.

The Braves pitching looks unbelievable, but facing the Cards and Marlins could be responsible for that.
