Phillies at Astros 4/28/23

Thought I’d go ahead and start this early. Tonights game is on Apple, and as a reminder for Chuck, you can change the audio to the Astros radio broadcast on the app/webrowser/whatever.

Bannon? Qui est-ce?

Hopefully he’s a psycho killer at the plate.

Waiver claim from the Cubs over the winter, called up from SL when Chas went on the IL, this is his Astros debut

Thanks. Let’s hope he gives us a little more than Hensley has so far.

Rylan Bannon. He’s got his own wikipedia page and everything! Rylan Bannon - Wikipedia

Highlights:

*2018 California (non-penal) League MVP with Rancho Cucamonga, where he hit .296 in 89 games with 20 homers and 61 RBIs.
*He was part of the package the Dodgers sent to Baltimore for Machado.
*Picked up 2 hits during a cup of coffee with the O’s in 2022.
*He was then waived by the Orioles in August, claimed by the Dodgers who waived him four days later, before he could appear in any games. He was then picked up by the Braves who eventually waived him in November. The Cubs claimed and then waived him in December, when the Astros claimed him.

That must have been quite a journey. Good for him for sticking it out and getting an MLB start.

Being a “40-man roster crunch” guy must be such a fucking whirlwind.

Great! That is what the real broadcasters were thinking.

the “…but WTF is he gonna do about it” killed me

Me too!

I also liked the “HOLY SHIT!” at impact.

Tried to sneak a 3-2 cutter by him and left it the happy zone

They used the Apple maps app to sort that out.

Bregman goes to the top of the wall…Castellanos goes up, but won’t show the ball…finally he does. Robbed.

He’s the greatest outfielder in history, apparently.

Only against the Astros
