Almost that time again. My one question would be, anyone else interested in adding 1 additional bench spot this season, as with injuries and byes it gets a bit rough.
I like the idea. Four bench spots is pretty shallow.
Also, who else is returning to play this season?

The difference between the player that would then be on the bench and the player that’s still available will be pretty small imo

I’m in if you all will have me. I probably know less about fantasy football now then I did at this time last year. Oh…I’ll cram for the test a day or two before but once again may not be real competitive. I still enjoyed playing though but if you are trying to make the league more competitive and know a guy or gal go ahead and pull the trigger.
RE: an additional bench spot
I used to be heavy into fantasy football…Co-commished etc. for years. The bench spot or spots was always about what you wanted the waiver wire landscape to look like.
Did you want it to be picked over? If yes, that meant you would be putting ownness on the Owners to pay attention to byes, etc. and plan ahead to cover their own assess when the time was needed. If cool, add the extra bench spot.
OR
Did you want the waiver wire landscape to be more fruitful, enabling Owners to have a better chance to grab talent when needed at a moments notice? This makes it easier on a league of people that aren’t taking the league as seriously as they should and allows them to more consistently field a solid line up and not throw W’s to the few that are deep in it. Anyhow, don’t add the extra spot under this scenario.
We start a QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF, K. Having 3 guys on bye isnt uncommon, with 4 bench guys, you have maybe a QB a RB 2 WR. If your TE/DEF/QB are on bye, you have to drop the backups you drafted to cover the byes. Id say just get rid of the IR. Currently you have 4 bench spots and 2 IR. Just make it 6 bench spots regardless of injury status.
I love the IR because it’s a least a small consolation to not have to sacrifice one of your bench spots at the same time you’re losing a key player from your lineup but cool either way.
