This was exactly my stance on this game.
That and the constant crowding the ref by half the team everytime a foul is called drove me crazy. They just totally disregard the “only captain” rule and get away with it.
How good are Cape Verde, really? They drew with Spain and only lost to Argentina in extra time. But the only game they won was against Bermuda (!?) Were they just just good at rising to the occasion and playing way over their heads?
(I know nothing about soccer, but accidentally watched them against Spain (while waiting for my order at Chicago Bagel Authority) and then was rooting for them as impossible underdogs against Argentina.)

I watched Cape Verde and Argentina. That game was nothing like the Argentina/Spain game. Cape Verde played a perfectly respectable game, and played way over their head.
World Cup winners Fabián Ruiz and Gavi have received their weight in tomatoes from their hometown after helping Spain win the competition for a second time.

If you had described Lebron’s career to 12 year old me then said he was one of my least favorite star players of all time I would have been dumbfounded.

LeBron is a top 5 all time player and the only argument is where in the top in the top 5 does he belong. However, most fans of teams tend to value loyalty to the team and LeBron only has loyalty to himself. There are plenty of LeBron fans and they will follow him wherever he goes. He is a billionaire and by all accounts a good father and husband. I can’t stand him but I do admire him.

Yes my dislike is fairly shallow, i.e. I don’t think he is a bad person.
And I think he has had the greatest career of just about any athlete you could name.
I’ve just seen enough of it.
The good news here is that the Knicks likely just got screwed.
It’s amazing that he’s lived so long under the spotlight and avoided any semblance of negative scandal, is one of the greatest athletes of all time, seems like a good citizen and family man, and yet I totally share a lack of emotional connection with the guy.
