The least surprising thing would be Spurs losing and West Ham winning. Frankly, I would be shocked by any other result.

The WCWS is down to the final four teams. Tomorrow: Texas tries to take two from Tennessee and Texas Tech will try to take two from Alabama. If both are successful, there will be a rematch for the title.

Horns win the first one against fake UT. Next game starting with winner advancing to final.

And the Horns move on, winning 4-0

Relatively drama-free, except for the bad hop to Stewart’s chin.

Trampoline effect off the bag.

Definition of a wicked hop.

Texas Tech wins the first game over Alabama 5-4 with a walk-off homer. They will have to do it again to save the nation from another all SEC final.

…and they did! Improbably, both one-loss teams swept their double headers. Texas and Texas Tech will meet again for the natty.

It’s nice that, even though they’re no longer in the same conference, these two programs find a way to play each other every year.

May the results be the same as last year.

It’s funny seeing both coasts poo poo Texas baseball. These CWS showings coupled with 7 MLB WS showings by Texas teams in the last 15 years must be chaffing them big time.

Darn impressive showing after they dropped that first game.

Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, comes from last place at the final turn to run away with the Belmont Stakes. What a horse.

Brendan Sorsby has been granted an injunction against the NCAA and will play starting week three for Texas Tech.

I am shocked. I think most of Raider Nation are shocked as well. We figured he was gone to the NFL supplemental draft and Tech would try to hold on until Hammond could return.

This may be considered good news for Tech, but it will make the season a circus and makes the NCAA even weaker.

Look, fuck the NCAA in every respect, but this makes a mockery of the sport.

I can’t imagine any judge outside of Lubbock making this ruling.

The Texas Tech alumna who was first assigned to this case recused himself. The ruling judge graduated from UH.

ETA: I saw a couple of reports from court witnesses whose lay opinions were that Sorsby’s legal team completely outclassed the NCAA’s.

Week three is a home game against UH. Nationally televised Friday night on FOX.
