As Shoresy always says, you gotta set the tone.
Nuñez is Liverpool’s Popup Bregman.
Meanwhile, in Madrid:
- Kylian Mbappe 4
- Kylian Mbappe 33
- Kylian Mbappe 61
Citeh crashing out with now 6 unanswered goals.
I am thinking US - Canada is must see TV. You won’t need to be a hockey fan.
I’m not, and will watch.
Did I read a bit about there being 3 fights in the first 9 seconds of their first matchup?
I respect the hate.
I’m anxiously waiting for the puck to drop.
He shoots! He scores! Tie game.
The advertising on the boards is interesting. There’s no way they have active displays on the boards, so there’s some realtime video post-processing going on where they “paint” the ads onto the boards. But this isn’t the usual, relatively simple green screen stuff. When you get a low-angle shot from the ice, you can see what’s really on the boards (it’s a Honda ad on one of the side boards), and when they switch back to the high angle you’ll see the rotating ads. So they’ve solved two problems: super-imposing the ads on a non-uniform background (the first-down line projections in the NFL already do this to a degree, but this is slightly different), and mapping the ad onto a non-flat surface, because the ads are perfectly smooth through the rounded corners, including properly omitting the parts that are blocked by the near boards. And they maintain this as the camera pans from one end to the other.
I noticed the difference from the playing surface angle to the overhead. All the graphics have been impressive. Those images projected on the ice were pretty high definition.
As a non-hockey afficionado: it’s very easy to follow the puck on tv. That’s not always the case.
Hey MLB:
Learn the fucking lesson and play the WBC midseason.
In the winter or don’t play it at all
Moyes and Everton do seem to be a match.
Yes, they’re no longer a pushover, although the current United squad may not be the most reliable test.
Maybe not…
Ashley Young just had a penalty overturned for diving. There is a God.
Palace caught Fulham by surprise; I don’t think they were expecting this level of intensity.
Also, Eze has found his shooting boots and is in full pomp. I haven’t seen him this contemptuous of opposing players since last season.
At one point, Ebs stood still with the ball at his feet and his hands on his hips, daring the Fulham defender to try and take the ball off him. The defender didn’t try; the least embarrassing of two embarrassing options.
Fulham got run over today by a Palace team who collectively decided to have their best game for quite a while.
Not a shining moment for the Chelsea goalkeeper.
