It makes perfect sense to stop the clock for a suspension on play. The only theory I can come up with is that they fear a slippery slope to a full-on play clock.

Having your goal disallowed by VAR and then a soft-as-shit penalty given against you by VAR is about the most Palace thing I’ve ever seen.
Hell, I missed all that.
Denmark were offsides by two angstroms and had their goal disallowed.
