I just watched the replay of Abreu’s bases loaded out in the 8th. Holy cow. He smoked the ball up the middle, but Frazier was shifted behind second. Then, it took a high hop, and Frazier had to leap to get it and made the great play. Anyone who is critical of that AB is into character assassination.

It will. But the Astros must keep winning. Their “magic” number to win the division is 10. And there are 9 games left to play. They could theoretically go 8-1 the rest of the way and still not win the division.

Not trying to be pollyanna or debbie downer…just reiterating that the Astros need to keep winning. It’s there for the taking, but they have to take it.
The wild card aspect makes for some fascinating game theory to me.
If you expect the Astros to go, let’s say, 7-3 or better, you want the Rangers and Mariners splitting.
But if you expect the Astros to keep faltering, you want one of those teams sweeping the others - preferably the Mariners sweeping the Rangers.

Oh I know. But it points out the elephant in the room. The time is now. They either get the job done or they don’t, but it’s got to happen now. They’ve used up their discretionary funding, as it were.

Framber beating Ragans tomorrow would be a great start. Hoping our hitters will make some adjustments after just seeing him a few days ago, but that kid has been on a roll since coming over to KC.
