Thanks. Its nice to know some of my ideas arenā€™t crazy.

I know its a balancing act between protecting the young starters and not taxing the bullpen.

I just think Dusty waited a bit too long a few times.

I whole heartedly agree with this. There have been a few times where a Javy or Hunter have given the Astros 5/6 really solid innings and are just under the point where you donā€™t want to pull them. Then they go out for the next inning and get 1 or zero outs and leave with a bad taste in their mouth. Confidence can be such a big thing, and such a fragile thing when stuff starts going against you.

Iā€™m sympathetic to Dusty earlier in the season when the bullpen was gassed. What are you gonna do? At some point, you just gotta get through innings. If the bullpen was in better shape, or the offense more consistent maybe he feels he doesnā€™t have to try to squeeze one more inning out of those guys and they are able to build on those outings in a more positive way.
