Music 2025

I’m listening to the archived show. She always plays good music.

I just saw Santiago Motorizado. He played Google Maps and I thought of you idiots, god help me.

My daughter and I saw Viagra Boys last night at White Oak. Good show if that’s your bag (and it is my bag). Best thing was it was a beautiful night to see a show outdoors in Houston. And at my advanced age it was even better that it was over around 9:30.

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that your daughter is old enough to go to shows with you.

She is a musician. She asks me to go to all kinds of shows. Yesterday she asked if we could go to Cactus after dinner and I said I was thinking of going to the show and she just said “I’ll go with you.” So we went. But yeah, we’ve been around here a long time.

I’m still recovering from learning that she has a drivers license.

I’m wresting with the fact that Waldo is old enough to drink.

Not from 2025 (from 1966), but listening to Wade in the Water by the Ramsey Lewis Trio to go along with my Montepulciano. I only have the mono version, but it’s soooo good.

One of these days, when I get a windfall, I’m going to put a second arm on my turntable with a nice mono cart.

When I win the lottery I’m gonna buy a turntable like yours. And some Magnepan speakers.

I have a long cord on my headphones (because my amp is across the room) and I have a bad habit of stepping on it when I get out of my chair to change a record. It rips them right off my head. You’d think I’d lean, but noooo

Two words: Bluetooth

How 21st Century.

No, headphones go over the ears. You may be thinking headgear, the tortuous orthodontic device that haunted my jr. high years.

I have a pair of open back Bluetooth headphones. I like them, but they don’t sound as good as the wired. Plus I have no way to connect them to my amp.
