Thanks, was wondering about that; having listened to the “new” album I was kind of losing interest in watching it. I would highly not recommend Songs of Surrender. Reworking songs is fine, but these are pretty poorly done (to my ears at least). My biggest complaint being they’re dull, mostly unimaginative reworkings that don’t add anything to the songs.
This is an accurate but incomplete statement. It was also written at a time when the band was about to break up, and they worked through the song as they made the decision to stay together.
It is absolutely the best song about the nature of a marriage ever written.

Yesterday I heard a Styx cover of “One Way Out”, which was… not bad. Certainly not a combination I would have thought of.

Agreed. Ditto cover versions, as long as the coverer is doing their own version the song, and not just doing a poor imitation of the original.

While I’m not the biggest fan of U2 - I like them just fine - my girlfriend would be. When we got the opportunity to see them on the Joshua Tree 30th tour in Dublin…at Croke Park, well, we ponied up. It was pretty special.

The first Mrs Limey hated a cover of one of her favorite songs (can’t remember which, but she had a great taste in music), mostly because “the kids today” didn’t know it was a cover.
Fast forward a bit, we were taking in David Bowie at The Woodlands and he did “The Man Who Sold the World”. On the way home she told me that she thought it was really cool that he covered a Nirvana song…
