Jansen to Atlanta.
Isn’t that where he started?
Phillies add Castellanos and improve their OF defense. Ouch. They may score 900 runs, but they may need to.
Just heard on MLB Radio as part of the Correa discussion, that 16 of the 18 most expensive free agents contracts signed this year have all been by non-playoff teams.
Interesting…
Apparently it’s now a thing…
It’s not quite that one-sided. Counting the Soler signing, it’s 13 of 19.
You can double check it here…
Story to the Red Sox - 6/140
I don’t think anybody posted this but if so mea culpa. The Astros weren’t interested in negotiating with Correa of late but were with Story? Odd.
Clearly with Correa it was about the opt-outs, not the dollar figure.
Boston gave Story an opt-out after year 4. Could’ve been the same… story?

Not sure why opt outs are cool. From mu perspective, how can you build a team with chemistry if they are gone tomorrow
Definitely bad chemistry for this year’s team then. Gurriel, Castro, Maldonado, Brantley, Pressly, Diaz, Montero are all free agents at the end of the season. Not to mention a whole slew of other players who might not return due to other reasons (non-tenders, club options, etc).
Dodgers and White Sox made a rare big leaguer for big leaguer trade. Kimbrel for Pollock
Jacob deGrom has a “stress reaction” in his throwing shoulder and has been shut down for at least four weeks.
The Mets have so much Metsing to do this season that they’re having to start before opening day.
Peña continues to do well in ST.
Rosenthal pointed out on his latest podcast that his story on Peña would not have occurred if writers weren’t back in the clubhouse. He was just chatting with Altuve when Jose made the “he’s going to be a superstar” comment and decided to build the story out of that.
