I thought it was also. He pitched well, 5 innings, 66 pitches. I was going to ask about this after the game, but euphoria took over.

If you look at his numbers when facing guys for a 3rd time, yikes. I get why management doesn’t want him going a third time through the order. Guys are hitting nearly .400 off him
Understood, but the other side of that is you do not get better coming out after 5 when you are throwing well.

He’s had chances. ERA innings 1-3 2.98, 4-6 6.68, he’s pitched into the 6th 8 times for an ERA of 13.50. Tonight might have been one of his good nights, but it was too close a game(and a big game) for me to take the chance.
