Thereās obviously some stat geek thing that the team has used to conclude that holding runners on is a waste of time. Who the hell knows how they arrived at that or why they canāt see that itās idiotic, but Donāt let 'em get to third has been the philosophy all year. That tends not to be the practice, but it is the philosophy.
Anyway, if the Astros refuse to score runs, none of it matters.
