I had an assistant coach in 1997 who played at UT and also played some minor league ball. His lecture to our kids on hitting was: “You cannot hit a curve ball. I cannot hit a curve ball. Look for the fast ball every time.”
We had a good hitting team that year, and I think that coaching advice was the reason.
