These takes are off, just as most of the takes of the âMainstream Liberalâ press. The NYTâs headline includes this:
For more than two centuries, American presidents were effectively shielded from indictment. But the case against former President Donald J. Trump breaks that taboo and sets a new precedent.
This whole take is bullshit, basically an airing or right-wing threats. In my lifetime, I never recall an ex-president who was investigated by a grand jury and not prosecuted cause they were an ex-president. That precedent doesnât exist.
Absolutely it does. The Democrats have opened the door for this to happen. Hopefully some investigations on Bush and Barry will start. Bidenâs time is coming as well.
This is why the NT Times Pitchbot is so good, because often you canât tell the difference.
Trump was actually shielded from prosecution by being president (Mueller was not allowed to charge the 10 counts of obstruction by Trump he cited in his report), and by AG Barr who told the New York office to drop its planned indictment of Trump over this very thing 5 years ago.
And the only reason an ex-president hasnât been indicted before Trump, is because Ford pardoned Nixon in a chickenshit move that caused his approval rating to drop 20 points overnight.
We indict and convict current and former politicians all the time; itâs inevitable that we get to do it to a former president eventually. Itâs actually quite sad that it takes this much flagrant and widespread lawbreaking to get the justice system to move.
Last point: itâs not outlandish to argue that Trump does not become president in the first place without the illegal scheme for which he is now indicted. He won MI, PA and WI by less than 1% of the vote; so it is easy to see how bad press - like a porn star and a nude model (two different women) coming forward regarding affairs with candidate Trump - couldâve tipped the balance in Clintonâs favor.
I need to add Bill Clinton to this list as well since he paid out hush money to Paula Jones and likely other women.

Iâm not sure how much more of this I can take. AG Bragg just told Gym Jordan to go fuck himselfâŚagain.

Come on now.
Trump officially won the vote of anyone with a brain.
Taking on Disney is completely nuts. I would think an $80 billion corporation is going to have much more high powered legal resources than a banana republic type state like Florida.

Hopefully this follows DeSantis so that he doesnât get to crow about taking on âwokeâ corporations without any pushback on how he got his ample ass handed to him by them.
The judge in the Dominion defamation suit against Fox News has thrown out the last, desperate motions by Fox to the slow down the case.
Itâs going to trial soon. As is the E. Jean Carroll civil suit against Trump, followed shortly thereafter by E. Jean Carrollâs criminal complaint against Trump. With the NY case against Trump going to trial in a few months. Possibly to be followed by cases with Georgia and the DOJ, plus the multiple civil suits arising out of Jan 6.
Weâre going to be getting a âTrial of the Centuryâ once a month for the foreseeable future.
Yes, itâs quite the political stunt by the Democrats. Every failed attempt to âget Trumpâ is making Democrats more and more desperate. They know they canât beat him fairly in 2024 so time is of the essence for them. However, this idiotic political stunt is just making President Trump more popular than ever and it is opening the eyes of all rational Americans.
The judge has ruled on two of the three required elements in Dominionâs favor: that they knowingly lied and that damages were suffered. Now, the case must be solely tried on the element of malice. Simple greed or cowardice isnât enough, they must prove malice. Dominionâs evidence in this regard will be interesting.
âMaliceâ in this context means actual knowledge of, or flagrant disregard of, the truth. Dominion sent Fox hundreds of emails pointing out where they were wrong and asking them to correct their stories and stop repeating the bullshit.
In reality, all thatâs really at question in this case is whether Dominion can justify their claim of $1.6 billion in actual damages, and what amount of punitive damages a jury will add in addition.
